Waingapu.Com – The Uma Kokur Community in Tanamanang Village, Pahunga Lodu District, East Sumba Regency, has been running a business to increase the economic value of coconuts since September 2022. Consisting of 15 members, dominated by women and housewives, the community led by Arnoldus Yansens Bulu synergizes with the Environmental Forum (WALHI) NTT.
To reporters at the secretariat which also serves as the production center, Arnoldus Yansens Bulu, who is familiarly called Umbu Arnold, stated that the efforts made by his group are expected to have an economic impact.
"Our village has a lot of coconuts, but I see that their utilization is not optimal. In fact, if processed properly and willing to set aside time, the economic value of coconuts can be increased," said Umbu Arnold.
