Nusantara Fund: For a More Prosperous Indigenous Community

This Nusantara fund is intended as a stimulus for indigenous peoples and local communities (MAKL) to be more empowered in caring for lands and sustainable land restoration. Direct funding for MAKL is managed by Walhi, AMANand KPA. Dana Nusantara also plays a role in promoting the recognition and protection of community-managed areas as a model for natural resource management that is oriented towards ecosystem restoration and collective efforts to reduce the impact of the climate crisis and ecological disasters.

As we know, ecological disasters are very common in Indonesia. According to Mongabay, an ecological disaster is a natural event or disaster due to human involvement in a systemic, destructive, and massive manner that causes environmental damage, economic losses, agrarian conflicts, human rights violations, and even loss of life.
