AMAN.or.id – Regional Administrators AMAN Simahiyang held outreach programs for the formation of Indigenous Community Business Groups (KUMA) at two traditional schools in Garut Regency, West Java. The first outreach program was held at the Kampung Dukuh Indigenous Community on June 26, 2025, and the second at the Dangiang Batuwangi Community on June 29, 2025. The activities were attended by traditional school administrators and local village officials, such as the Dangiang Village Head and the Kampung Dukuh Neighborhood Association (RW) Head.
Chief Executive Officer AMAN Dadang Budiman, Head of the Simahiyang District, stated that KUMA was formed with members from students and administrators of traditional schools from each community. The goal is to build economic independence in traditional schools to ensure optimal teaching.
The Principal of the Kampung Dukuh Traditional School, Sepri Hidayat, said that KUMA socialization was very important to maintain local knowledge, such as pomfret fish smoking techniques which are local natural potential. He emphasized the importance of indigenous knowledge heritage for the younger generation.
Meanwhile, in the Dangiang Batuwangi community, the business group being socialized is a free-range chicken farm. The socialization took place at the community's home. AMAN Simahiyang and attended by four community caretakers. Entang Ahmad Fauzi, one of the caretakers, said that free-range chickens require good care to produce quality eggs, and this effort is considered to be able to encourage the economic independence of traditional schools.
