- Daily Management of the Regional Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) West Kotawaringin (Kobar), provides legal education to the community, by holding Paralegal training.
The community-level Paralegal training activities by Aman Kobar took place from May to June 2024, in 6 villages, namely Rungun Village, Pangkut Village, Tempayung Village, Kubu Village, Sabuai Timur Village and Sungai Cabang Village.
Head of Aman Kobar Mardani Regional Management hopes that this basic training will provide benefits regarding legal education for indigenous communities at the village level. In addition, this training is also a means of recruiting community members to become paralegals in their respective indigenous communities.
"Paralegals who have been appointed from the community will undergo further education in the advocacy sector. AMAN West Kotawaringin," said Mardani, Thursday, June 27, 2024.
He said that the training was also assisted by the wing organization. AMAN such as the Association for the Defense of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (PPMAN).
"Currently, there are 8 paralegals who are ready to take further education from each community," he said.
Mardani explained that this program is a program from the main management. AMAN through the archipelago fund which is aimed at traditional community villages, implemented by regional administrators.
"We focus this training on communities that have been or are currently in conflict, so that they do not encounter legal problems and take the wrong steps in the future due to a lack of legal knowledge," he explained.
On the same occasion, the Head of Advocacy Division AMAN Kobar and PPMAN member Edy Ahmad Nurkhozin hope that there will be paralegals who, if there are indigenous people caught up in legal problems, can help resolve legal problems in their village.
"Our big hope is that there is 1 lawyer for 1 indigenous community who is ready to defend their indigenous community, and if there are law graduates who are members of the community who want to become lawyers, we are ready to help facilitate them on the condition that they are ready to become defenders for their indigenous community," he said.
