Karkara Biak Fabrics and Nusantara Fund socialize the economic strengthening program in the North Biak Korem Village

BiaK,Saireri.com – Kainkain Karkara Byak and PD AMAN Jayapura carried out the socialization of the economic strengthening program by Dana Nusantara or Nusantara Fund in the Korem village of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province on May 25, 2024.
The program for strengthening the indigenous community-based economy, carried out by Kainkain Karkara Byak in collaboration with the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago AMAN Jayapura and Nusantara Fund or Nusantara Fund was implemented in the Korem Village, North Biak District, Biak Numfor Regency, Papua.

Kumeser Kafiar, the program's manager, stated during a briefing that Korem Village, located on the north coast of Biak Numfor Regency and within the Napa customary territory, was designated as a recipient of the program. The program is a collaboration between Kainkain Karkara Byak and Nusantara Fund.

"The catch of local fishermen is generally marketed by indigenous people in front of their yards, walking around the village and on the side of the main road. If this program is successful, this group can find solutions for collecting and marketing the catch of indigenous people." - Welmina Rumadas, Head of the Korem Village Fish Collecting Group
