OTL Batulawang Strengthens Public Education for True Agrarian Reform

For more than three decades, the Batulawang Local Farmers Organization (OTL) has been facing agrarian conflict. The 104 hectares of land that serve as their settlement and source of income have been left in limbo without clear status. The Land Bank Agency has even repeatedly threatened to evict them from their land.

Through the assistance of the Agrarian Reform Consortium (KPA), the Batulawang OTL is encouraged to explore True Agrarian Reform as a solution to conflict resolution. Furthermore, education related to Agrarian Reform will also increase the capacity of Batulawang OTL members in agricultural land management. This is the basis for the development of the training center (training center) for the Batulawang OTL. The existence of a training center allows for education and cadre development for the Batulawang OTL members. This will not only impact the organization's sustainability but also strengthen their agrarian struggle.

The development of the training center, which serves as infrastructure to support the education of its members, has resulted in the emergence of new cadres with a critical awareness of agrarian reform. They understand that agrarian reform is not about distributing land certificates, but rather about collective land reclaiming that transforms rural power structures. The implementation of this program has had a social impact on 1.280 people, including 480 men, 480 women, and 320 youth.
