The community education center is now a strategic place to share knowledge and create change.
The Young Farmers' Work Community (KTM) of Pudaria Jaya Village in South Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi is an organization engaged in strengthening the capacity and management of local resources to improve the welfare of the people of Pudaria Jaya Village and Watu Porambaa Village. With a focus on community-based agriculture, KTM creates activities that combine community education with collective economic efforts as a solution to address the challenges faced by local farmers, such as declining agricultural productivity and the dominance of middlemen in the supply chain.
The activity began with organizing through regular discussions, which were held to build collective understanding and identify community needs. Continued with the construction of a community education center as a space for farmers to improve their knowledge and skills. In addition, the community held training to improve agricultural production and processing of derivative products, which aimed to provide added value to the harvest and create new market opportunities.
Through this activity, several results were achieved such as increasing the capacity of 180 participants, the establishment of a community education center, and the implementation of agricultural product management training. Not only strengthening the community, but also opening up new economic opportunities through community-based business units.
