Improving Coffee Quality and the Involvement of Kamanuru Coffee Farmers in Sigi, Central Sulawesi

The Kamanuru Coffee Farmers Association is a coffee farmers' organization in West Marawola District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. They focus on sustainable coffee cultivation and improving farmers' capacity in post-harvest processing to produce high-quality coffee. Since 2020, the Kamanuru Coffee Farmers Association has grown to include 40 members managing approximately 60 hectares of coffee plantations. The organization has also established the Ongu Nipamaya Farmers Cooperative to facilitate the processing and sale of raw and processed coffee beans.

The Kamanuru Coffee Farmers Association is currently hosting a "Sustainable Coffee Learning Center" to improve farmers' skills in coffee cultivation and sustainable agricultural management. With support from the Nusantara Fund, they are building learning facilities that include a sustainable coffee learning center, a permanent coffee nursery, and three coffee greenhouses in several locations.

In addition, they also provide technical training on environmentally friendly coffee cultivation techniques, quality coffee processing, and efficient coffee plantation management. Farmers are also involved in organizing activities to strengthen the role of cooperatives in supporting the farmer economy and fighting for their basic rights as part of the community. This aims to organize coffee farmers at the village, sub-district, and district levels, so they can share knowledge, experiences, and resources to improve their quality of life.
